How to Register – Think Science

How to Register?

  • School Students must register through a science teacher/lab technician (who is going to supervise their work and act as their official guardian)
  • All school students participants under the age of 21 are under their school supervisor’s responsibility, and the supervisor (teacher) confirms that he/she has the full permission of the legal guardian of the students that he/she registers to participate in the Think Science Program and that they will be under his/her full responsibility and supervision at all times, during the workshops, Exhibition, Fair, and during any of the Think Science program’s activities, and that Emirates Foundation holds no responsibility on supervising those participants. The teacher (supervisor) agrees that he/she read the EF Participant’s Release and Waiver of Liability Form and agrees to its terms and conditions on behalf of his/her registered students with their legal guardian's consent
  • Parent name and contact details are required for all School students to complete the registration
  • The teacher should have a science/engineering background
  • The teacher must register first as a “School Students Supervisor”, add the full project details, then register the students and add their details
  • A full project plan (research background, projects objectives, methodology and procedures, expected results and community benefit), including a comprehensive abstract (only 200 words) with clear objectives and outcomes, should be submitted online
  • Redundant or repeated projects will not be accepted and the project abstract must be written carefully
  • Each student can participate with one project only
  • A maximum of three participants can make up each team
  • Refer to the Nationality rules are as follows:
    • At least two Emirati nationals per team of three
    • At least one Emirati national per of two
    • In case of applying as one individual, the participant should be an Emirati.
    • Private Schools with no Emirati students may participate with no Emirati nationals, but are subject to the approval of the judging committee
  • Accurate student’s contact details are required to complete registration (Name as per the passport, email, mobile etc.)
  • Teachers can supervise many projects through one registration account
  • Only one school supervisor is allowed per project
  • Previously registered teachers in (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018) can simply log-in to activate their accounts for the 2019 round
  • University students can register directly as teams or individuals
  • A team Leader must initiate the registration process then he/she adds the team members and the full project details
  • Each team member will receive an email with the “EF Participant’s Release and Waiver of Liability Form”, and must login to his/her account and agree to its terms and conditions for his/her account to be activated
  • Parent/Guardian name and contact details are required for all University students to complete the registration

  • It is highly recommended that the university students have a supervisor for the project, and the team leader should add the supervisor’s details during the registration
  • Only one university supervisor is allowed per project
  • Students working on the project can be from different universities
  • Each university student can participate with one project only
  • Scientists, engineers and professionals from higher education (PhD holders) and industry are invited to apply as judges , volunteering to evaluate the innovative science projects competing at the Emirate’s Level Think Science competitions in February 2019
  • Applicants should be:
    • Bilingual (Fluent Arabic and English)
    • Specialized in science and technology (Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electronics, Industrial Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Information Technology, Artificial Intelligence, Robots, Smart Systems, Safety Systems, Applied Physics, Applied Chemistry, Environmental Sciences, and Biomedical and Health Sciences)
